When is the best time to visit?
South Tenerife is quite warm all year round. Although the temperature becomes cooler the higher in the hills you venture.
Active adventurers: For cyclists, climbers, and hikers we recommend Nov-Apr when the temperature is cooler (circa 20 degrees during the day).
Sun worshippers: For those that want to soak up the vitamin D we recommend Jun-Aug when the daylight hours increase and temperatures average around 28 degrees.
Carnival de Santa Cruz: The largest carnival outside of Brazil usually takes place in February, and so does the Puerto de La Cruz Carnival.
Whale watchers: For the best chance to see long finned pilot whales we recommend May-Apr, although you have a chance to see dolphins, pilot & sperm whales from Dec-May.
Wine enthusiasts: Wine season is Jul-Sept.
Wind & Kite surfers: The best place to wind & kite surf in Europe in May-Sep.
Scuba diving: The best chance to see manta rays is at the beginning of Sep. However, you can dive all year long, particularly if you're interested in cave diving.
Do I need to speak Spanish to get around?
It's an advantage in the less touristic parts of Tenerife, however the Canarians are friendly and make every effort to accommodate tourists from all nationalities. We recommend Google translate in a pinch.
What languages do you speak at the guest house?
Lynda and Jim primarily speak English, although Lynda makes every effort to speak and understand Spanish. However, guests from all over visit the guest house and with the help of some spontaneous sign language we always manage!
When is check-in and check-out?
Check-in from 14:00, however please inform us of your arrival beforehand to ensure we are present to open the door and welcome you.
Is breakfast included?
Breakfast is not included, but we do have a lovely kitchen that you are free to use, and we have a cafe that sells excellent coffee and homemade bread directly under the guest house.
Where is the nearest supermarket?
There are a number of shops only a 5 minute walk away.
Do you have Wi-Fi?
Yes, it's free! The log-in details will be made available to you on arrival. We love social media so please check out our Instagram for inspiration @casablancaguesthousetenerife
Do you serve alcohol?
We have our own self-service rooftop tiki bar! There are also a number of bars within a short walk.
Do you provide towels and bed linen?
Yes, all included in the price.
Is there a kitchen available?
Yes, we have an alfresco kitchen on the rooftop that is fully equipped. We also have a BBQ area that you are free to use.
Can you arrange transfers from the airport?
Absolutely, we are happy to arrange this for you with a trusted driver. Send us a message for more information.
What is there to do in Granadilla de Abona?
It is the perfect base for active adventurers that wish to explore the hills. There is also a variety of excellent cafes and restaurants in the area for those that want to explore with their taste buds. See our explore page for inspiration.
Are there any ATMs closeby?
Yes, within a 5 minute walk.
Can I pay with credit card everywhere?
No, you can't. We recommend withdrawing money as some of the local bars, cafes, restaurants, and taxi's do not accept card.
What is the local transport like?
The local transport is good and reasonably priced. You can find more information about local bus transport here.
Can you store my sporting equipment?
Yes, we can safely store bikes, climbing and hiking gear.
Can you accommodate children?
No, unfortunately not. Our guest house is not child-proofed, nor do we offer equipment like cots or highchairs.
Can we have a private event on the roof terrace?
Please contact us in advance for more information. Spontaneous private events are not permitted.

Payment transactions are securely operated via PayPal. You have the option to pay via your PayPal account or via credit card (no account required).
Payment in full is expected at the time of booking.
Are there any hidden fees?
No, there are no hidden fees. Cleaning, bedding, and towels are all included.
C-19 safety precautions & advice
We are committed to creating as safe an environment as possible for our guests:-
We clean daily and use disinfectant on all surfaces.
Hand sanitizer has been placed at various stations throughout the guest house.
We ask all guests that are not travelling together to maintain a 2m distance.
We recommend wearing masks in shared areas of the guest house. Note that Spanish regulations require everyone to wear a mask outside (click the link below to read more).
For everyones safety, we kindly ask you not to visit us should you have any c-19 related symptoms, or if have come into contact with a confirmed case within the last 2 weeks.
